The Department of Psychiatry will deliver comprehensive mental health services, addressing a variety of psychiatric disorders through personalised treatment plans and a multidisciplinary approach. Listed below are the services that this department provides and/or makes accessible.

Outpatient department (OPD) services

The OPD will offer regular consultations at affordable rates, supplemented by outreach through free health camps in nearby areas. Local mobile OPD services and teleconsultation options will also be available to extend access. A dedicated counselling clinic will provide treatment for a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), intellectual disability, bipolar disorder, autism, manias, and schizophrenia. The department will offer various cognitive behavioural therapies (CBTs) to support patients’ mental health.

Inpatient department (IPD) services

Comprehensive IPD services will deliver tailored, intensive care under the guidance of expert consultants. Admission options will accommodate self-paying patients, individuals under government health schemes (like Swasthya Sathi and Ayushman Bharat), and those with private health insurance. Accommodations will include ICUs, HDUs, general wards, and private cabins, as appropriate. The department will be equipped with advanced ventilators and cutting-edge equipment (e.g., advanced monitors, defibrillators, injectors, and laminar airflow systems). Our critical-care units will also feature state-of-the-art smart hospital beds.

Investigation services

The department will provide round-the-clock access to essential haematology, microbiology, pathology, and radiology services to support diagnostic accuracy and comprehensive patient care.

Research & development (R&D)

Our R&D efforts will focus on translational research, dedicated to converting laboratory discoveries into innovative clinical therapies, enhancing patient outcomes through advanced treatment options.

Education

Educational initiatives will include regular workshops and training sessions on interventional psychiatric techniques. Continuing medical education (CME) programmes will be offered to local family physicians, including guest lectures and the latest updates in mental health care. In the future, we plan to introduce the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) course and different paramedical courses in psychiatry to foster the next generation of specialists. Public symposiums will be frequently organised to promote community awareness of preventive mental health and the importance of timely intervention.
